Volunteering

Volunteering is good for you!

Volunteering can be a brilliant way to boost your mental wellbeing. Wouldn't it be great to know that you can help young people gain skills for life. You might have skills that could help raise funds, sort out administration or be an extra pair of hands. Who knows, you might even meet some amazing people on the way.

• Leaders

• Trustees

• Occasional helpers

  • Leaders: We come in all shapes and sizes, ages and abilities with one thing in common. A desire to help get the best out of our younger generation. A love of nature, an inquisitive mind and patience all help.
  • Trustees: Our executive committee help the Group Scout Leader in looking after the running of the groups, maintenance and upkeep of the property along with making sure that all of the legal and financial obligations are upheld. Fund raising is always at the forefront too. A great opportunity for anyone who wants more of a "behind the scenes" role.
  • Occasional helpers: These tend to be parents who are willing and able to lend a hand when it's needed and if called on by group leaders. If you can't look to offer a regular time commitment then this might just suit you. Ask your Leader what you can do.

All positions within scouting come with training and support so you never feel that you are alone.
